Flexible working “is common sense” for SMEs

4th June

Category: Workforce mobility

Flexible working is an option that should be utilised by all small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

This is the opinion of Stephen Alambritis, spokesman for the Federation of Small Businesses, who said the method - which can be achieved through software such as Citrix Access Gateway - is "common sense" for firms of that size.

Commenting on the advantages of a mobile workforce, the specialist observed: "It fits the needs and demands of staff and employers and staff are more productive if they are able to have a say in their hours of work."

Mr Alambritis was speaking in response to a report issued by Warwick Business School, which found companies up and down the country have been turning their attentions to making their managerial practices flexible.

A recent press release by Pricewaterhouse Coopers revealed employees consider the opportunity of working from home to be the most desirable of all job perks - even more appealing than bonuses.
