A global law firm has opted for SAP software to replace its financial systems.

Baker and McKenzie stated that the deployment will enable them to remain competitive and flexible in the current economic climate while also reducing financial operating costs.

The enterprise resource planning (ERP) application should allow law firms and in-house counsel to manage business processes end-to-end and help meet client requirements that are becoming more and more sophisticated, the company noted.

It is hoped that the implementation will result in reduced financial operating costs and savings in future technology expenditure as well.

The firm said it believes that this will increase its fluency across a range of platforms in its offices around the world.

Jim Hagemann Snabe and Bill McDermott, co-chief executive officers at SAP, recently announced that the enterprise is to become more innovative throughout 2010 by employing more agile software development practices to get small teams working closely with customers.
