Home working ‘can drive business growth’

7th September

Category: Workforce mobility

The ability to implement home working practices within an organisation is vital if it is to flourish and grow over time.

Richard Taylor, UK partner for the Birchman Group, said that access to documents and the potential to complete tasks from remote locations is important.

This can mean both home working and tackling responsibilities while on the move or visiting customers are desirable.

"Wherever I am, I want to be able to get hold of the documentation that's important to me. The mobile workforce is really driving the general trend," stated Mr Taylor.

One other benefit of this is that British offices can realistically become paperless, should the adoption of technology be a success.

Access to documents from a range of locations means staff do not need to print items and carry them around.

Bar Huberman, employment law editor at XpertHR, recently said that managers must adapt the way they work to bring out the best in home workers.
