Home working could be more important to staff than money

The advantages of home working to both employer and employee are well known by many, with the practice being increasingly adopted in western workplaces.

Staff enjoy the ability to combine their professional responsibilities with domestic requirements, while bosses can benefit from higher productivity and loyalty, often making home working a win-win situation.

Dan Schawbel, managing partner of Millennial Branding, writing for Time magazine, suggested many now value flexible options - which include working from home - so greatly that they are even more important than money.

He noted plenty of Gen Y workers – those born between 1982 and 1993 – are turning to flexible positions and some could even take a pay cut to secure one.

The author went on to explain companies that offer flexible working are showing they understand the modern world.

James Kendrick, writing for ZDNet, recently said home working can be highly effective, although it is important staff create a designated workspace within their abode.
