Companies aiming to increase happiness and satisfaction levels among their staff may find that offering home working is a shrewd move.
According to a new study by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), 32 per cent of employees feel flexible options are becoming an increasingly significant part of holding down a job.
It also discovered that 85 per cent believe flexibility is either important or very important.
"With many employees experiencing pay freezes and even pay cuts it is more important than ever that individuals feel they are getting the maximum value from any benefits provided in the workplace," explained Diana Bruce, senior policy liaison officer at the CIPP.
Home working may be one attractive option for firms, while others are identified as pensions contributions and healthcare.
A survey conducted by recruitment firm Office Angels recently found 71 per cent of people think working from remote locations will grow in popularity by 2036.
