Companies that offer home working as part of their package to staff will invariably be able to attract the most sought-after workers, if one expert is to be believed.
Jonathan Swan, research and policy manager at Working Families, explained that there are many benefits to flexible working.
Employees who are able to work at times that suit them, on a flexitime basis or from home may to be more productive, as he noted they tend to be happier and more committed to their firm.
"Flexible working also makes you an employer of choice. People are more likely to choose to work for an employer that offers flexible working than one that doesn't," stated Mr Swan.
The expert went on to suggest that as well as increased productivity, companies that offer home working and other flexible options will also see better performance and more loyalty from their staff.
Office Angels recently predicted that the standard working day will be a thing of the past in 25 years and remote positions and unusual hours will be a must for many employers.
