Remote access working could help organisations to combat the adverse effects that swine flu may have on their business, one specialist has suggested.

Writing for Computerworld, Solstice Consulting’s Eric Rosenzweig stated that remote access software has improved greatly over the years and now offers a range of security measures to protect sensitive company data.

He stated: "With remote access technology in place, it’s now conceivable that a business could use an aggressive work from home policy as a preventative measure against illness spreading throughout the office."

According to Mr Rosenzweig, for enterprises that are not currently able to allow workers to effectively work from their home, it is definitely time to introduce new technology.

Measures such as this will increase productivity and ensure staff members become sick less often, he added.

Earlier this month, Research by Wolters Kluwer business CCH found that an increasing number of firms are introducing remote access software to optimise their workplace functions.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19483465-ADNFCR
