Businesses should be readying themselves for a surge in home working over the coming years, if British employees are to be believed.
New research by recruitment agency Office Angels has found many people believe office contact will decrease in the future as more staff log on from remote locations – such as their own abode.
The study revealed 71 per cent of respondents believe home working will grow in popularity between now and 2036, with key factors behind this including the advancement of technology to ensure superior flexibility and connectivity.
David Chubb, managing director at Office Angels, said: "Remote working can be a great tool for a business, offering a flexible working model which benefits its employees and allows access to a greater pool of talent."
The New Economics Foundation recently outlined plans to change the way Britain works, which included a reduced emphasis on a set nine-to-five routine – potentially opening up opportunities for home working.
