Workforce mobility chiefs have been advised to plan for a surge in the amount of home working taking place in British companies in the future, which could be achieved effectively by using Citrix XenApp.
Matt Oakley, chairman of the British Council for Offices' research committee, explained his belief that staff are set to become less attached to their workplace and begin carrying out tasks in other locations.
He suggested that the best place to work can be different between various workers and can even change for individuals.
"There will be more flexible and multi-locational workers who aren't tied to a desk five days a week, but they still [may] come into the office for face-to-face contact," predicted Mr Oakley.
He went on to note that home working is all about giving people the chance to be happy and organised.
Ian Osborne, project director at Intellect, recently suggested weather problems last winter forced businesses to realise that plenty of work can be done from home.
