British companies may find that investing in home working solutions helps them to combat staff absenteeism.
With ministers suggesting next week's planned public sector strike will cost the country £500 million, the pressure is on to get as many employees to work as possible.
According to the Guardian, the greatest headache for Britons will be the closure of thousands of schools, leaving parents with a choice between going to work and caring for their child.
But firms that have installed home working technology will have no such worries, as on such occasions staff can simply transfer their tasks from their desk to their home office.
A figure of £500 million was reached after politicians considered not only the public sector meltdown due to take place on Wednesday (November 30th) but also the knock-on effects - some of which can be prevented by home working.
Transport minister Norman Baker recently unveiled the Anywhere Working group, emphasising the government's backing for home working on a permanent basis.
