Approximately a third of Londoners must turn to home working if next year's Olympic Games in the city are to run smoothly.
That is the view of Transport for London chiefs, who revealed in a meeting last week that small and medium-sized companies will be targeted with the intention of persuading some to work different hours or from remote locations during the Games, reported the Daily Mail.
At busy spots such as Canary Wharf, it is thought that up to 60 per cent of workers will have to change the way they travel – or engage in home working – in order for the transport infrastructure to cope.
It is thought that people using the tube will be advised they may have to wait half an hour for a train at busy stations during rush hours, while roads are expected to be gridlocked.
The Olympic Games get underway on July 27th next year and run for more than two weeks in east London and other locations.
