The demand for managed IT services is going to increase in 2010, it has been claimed.
Writing for CIO, Stephanie Overby noted that the industry had a "year of intense ups and downs", with interest rising in some areas and declining in others.
"The market for IT outsourcing is expected to rebound a bit in 2010, say industry watchers," she stated.
According to Ms Overby, while the overall requirement for outsourcing and IT services pricing was down over the year, many industries reported a marked boost in remote access demand.
Quoting statistics from earlier this year, she added that 75 per cent of businesses reported growth in the managed services pipeline for 2010 during the third quarter.
Readers were told that this represents a ten per cent increase on the previous three-month period and a 34 per cent rise on 2008 figures.
Earlier this month, in an interview with Forbes, chief information officer of mining company KaMin Senad Hadzic said that outsourced IT is a great option for small businesses looking for fast growth.
