Utilising managed services can prove to be a key way for companies to ensure they are able to extract full value and benefit from their IT setups.

Melanie Turek, industry director for analyst Frost and Sullivan, stated in an article for the No Jitter business blog that 62 per cent of enterprises now used managed services, underlining the growing importance of collaboration in business.

She stated that outsourced IT arrangements can make it easier to create the advanced infrastructure required for efficient communications, with managed services providers helping companies to create effective deployment strategies.

The expert said this is vital to business success, due to the number of real-time applications modern companies will run on their networks.

"A managed services provider can help not just with the nuts and bolts, but also with the business process integration and broader change management, too," she added.

Earlier this week, software firm Webcom stated that outsourced IT deals are becoming more popular among medium-sized companies, rather than only larger firms.
