Demand for managed services is likely to rise as a result of companies seeking to maintain their growth despite the difficult economic conditions.
A new report from the US has been published by Insight Research Corporation, showing that the managed services market in America is set to grow at 12 per cent annually through to 2015, reports Light Reading.
According to Insight Research president Robert Rosenberg, this uptake of outsourced IT is due to the increasing complexity of telecom services, including transitions to all-IP networks and wireless access.
He stated this change represents as dramatic a change in corporate IT infrastructure as the move to internet-based business in the 1990s.
However, due to the fact that resources are still being constrained by the recent recession, many firms are unable to afford to do this in-house, which is necessitating a "new strategy" via managed services.
Last week, CIO Insight reported IT Governance Institute figures showing that the majority of global firms are now utilising outsourced IT as they seek to maximise profit margins.
