Microsoft is planning to upgrade Exchange Server 2007 so that it more compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 due to customer feedback, it has been revealed.
Kevin Allison, general manager of Exchange customer experience at the organisation, wrote on the team blog for the product that responses from users are always important and will be taken on board.
He stated: "In the coming calendar year we will issue an update for Exchange 2007 enabling full support of Windows Server 2008 R2."
According to Mr Allison, consumers requested this modification because it is thought that it will enable more efficient streamlining capabilities and a reduction in administrative problems.
The decision was made in spite of earlier indications from the firm that this level of support would not be incorporated into the application.
According to Microsoft, Windows Server 2008 R2 offers businesses increased flexibility and reliability, as well as providing new virtualisation tools, management upgrades, web resources and Windows 7 compatibility functions.
