A new appliance in the Citrix NetScaler MPX range has been described by the company as ideal for businesses of all sizes.

According to the organisation, the high-performance NetScaler MPX 15000 model offers "unprecedented scalability" for all virtual deployments from single applications to large-scale systems.

"The unique NetScaler MPX architecture also drives the best performance to power consumption ratio in its class, with well more than twice the efficiency of competitive offerings," it remarked.

Companies with three to eight gigabits of throughput will be able to upgrade to the new package via a licence update, the organisation confirmed.

Key benefits of the platform include L4-7 local and global load balancing, application acceleration, increased firewall protection for programs and Web 2.0 server offload.

Last year, the firm unveiled its pay-as-you-go pricing structure for NetScaler, which it noted offers unparalleled flexibility for those using the product, particularly in the current economic climate.
