Employees entering the workforce over the next decade will quickly adapt to concepts such as home working and remote access software, one expert has observed.

In an article for Personnel Today, Jeff Brooks of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation noted a generation "that has grown up being used to mobile computing, networking and collaboration tools" will be employed in coming years.

And various technological advances were predicted to facilitate the growth of remote access, with changes in the way staff are trained coming about as a result.

Mr Brooks suggested emphasis will be placed on continuous education to ensure employees are familiar with specialist applications - appreciation of technology being combined with business understanding.

New UK home secretary Theresa May recently highlighted the potential benefits of remote access software, telling HR Magazine she is in favour of flexible working opportunities because they can be advantageous for various types of employee.
