Outsourced IT budgets are expected to rise over the coming year, as more companies turn their attentions towards IT support services.
Michael Friedenberg, president and chief executive officer at IDG Enterprise, said: "In 2011, outsourcing budgets are scheduled to reach an average of $76 million (£46 million), and those companies that are experiencing success with outsourcing will increase their use."
He explained that the key to outsourced IT proving efficient and effective is finding the right partner in order to reap the rewards of a "potential competitive advantage".
Companies providing managed services need to be able to improve their customers' business process, speed to market and customer engagement, Mr Friedenberg added.
Recently, Mark Lewis, head of outsourcing at law firm Berwin Leihton Paisne, told ComputerWeekly.com that outsourced IT is set to become a far more prominent trend within the local authorities market over the coming years, following Birmingham City Council's announcement it would be looking towards managed services.
