Outsourced IT market ‘set to grow’

17th May

Category: Support & Managed Services

With firms across the world looking to cut back on their costs and boost efficiency, it is perhaps no surprise that outsourced IT continues to be a huge hit.

New research by the International Data Corporation, presented by Global Information, suggests outsourced IT could remain a popular option among businesses in the years to come.

It said the global business process outsourcing market is likely to reach a total value of $202.6 billion (£127.3 billion) by 2016, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.3 per cent.

Of course, it is not only IT that can be outsourced, with providers now said to excel in offering services such as analytics, mobility, cloud delivery and big data.

The IDC's findings back up those released recently by the Everest Group, which illustrated the outsourcing market is standing up well in the difficult worldwide economy. It found the number of deals completed in the first quarter of the year was up on the amount recorded in 2011.
