Outsourced IT set for strong growth

16th June

Category: Support & Managed Services

Outsourced IT is forecast to see strong growth over the next couple of years.

According to the latest report by technology analyst firm Ovum, the global IT services market will grow 4.4 per cent by 2015, with managed services and outsourced IT accounting expected to see healthy growth rates.

Ovum's lead IT services market trends analyst Dr Alexander Simkin said: "The market for IT services is gradually recovering from the economic downturn."

In the next two years, the analyst predicts there will be a return to pre-recession rates of growth.

The report showed business process outsourcing, infrastructure-led outsourcing and IT support services are the areas which will see the strongest growth.

Application-led outsourcing is also expected to grow, just at a slightly slower rate.

A recent poll by IDG Enterprise revealed that around 26 per cent of companies currently outsource their IT services and this is set to rise over the next year.
