18th July

Outsourced IT services will help the Indian embassy in Muscat to deal with the workload that goes into providing citizens with passports and visas.

Anil Wadwha, ambassador of India to the Sultanate, announced over the weekend that there are many tasks the department wishes to delegate to outside companies.

These include the collection of passports and visas, the studying of relevant information, entering data in an electronic format and collecting any necessary fees.

Mr Wadwha confirmed that a company based in New Delhi has already been chosen to perform the outsourced IT tasks.

BLS International Services has plenty of experience in tackling IT work related to the production of passports and visas, as it currently deals with Indian documents in countries including Poland, Spain, Lithuania and the UAE.

Martyn Hart, chairman of the National Outsourcing Association, recently predicted that the British government will start to use outsourced IT services more and more over the coming months and years.
