Outsourcing is set to become a huge feature of business in the UK over the coming years, with investment in this area predicted to grow massively.
According to a report by the Financial Times, the largest wave of outsourcing since the 1980s is set to hit the country.
Outsourced IT could be one of the most popular investments at a time when companies and organisations look to send work to outside providers.
The newspaper noted that some of the areas expected to rely heavily on the process include police forces, prisons, health and defence.
Indeed, in excess of £4 billion worth of tenders are due to be negotiated by bosses this year, a study published in the Official Journal of the European Union noted.
Three police forces have recently outlined plans to outsource some services in a bid to save £73 million. Departments in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire are set to turn to the process.
