Virtual software provider Microsoft has made public its record fourth-quarter revenue results for 2010.
The company announced its income has increased to $16.04 billion (£10.32 billion), revealing an increase of 22 per cent on figures released at the same time last year.
Revenue relating to operating and net income, as well as diluted earnings per share, all witnessed growth.
Peter Klein, chief financial officer at the organisation, observed: "This quarter’s record revenue reflects the breadth of our offerings and our continued product momentum."
He added the encouraging results were achieved via an ongoing commitment to cost discipline.
Chief operating officer Kevin Turner stated he is expectant the momentum will keep up its pace throughout the next quarter due to a number of new product releases.
Writing for Virtualization Review, Bruce Hoard recently stated Microsoft and Citrix have worked together in an effective manner to deliver a reliable and flexible virtualisation experience.
