It is becoming increasingly important for companies to invest in remote access technology in order to deal with the growing prevalence of mobile computing.
This is the view of Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu, a regional director for Check Point Software Technologies, who told Express Computer that using mobile devices is becoming a "way of life" for many companies.
He cited figures from a survey suggesting that 54 per cent of organisations will see a growing number of remote users in 2011, with workers increasingly demanding remote access to corporate data and applications.
As a result, Mr Bakthavatsalu noted that it is vital that firms ensure they have the right secure access technologies in place to ensure that all data transfers are conducted safely.
He added that these should "work across a range of mobile devices running Apple, Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms".
Earlier this month, the Independent published a report showing that many UK organisations are using remote access and home working to save money, as it can help to eliminate unnecessary business travel.
