A company that adopts remote access employment is likely to see its productivity given a considerable boost, one expert has suggested.

Steve Overell, associate director of the Work Foundation, said the smarter use of technology will enable people to carry out their duties in a way that suits them.

The industry figure observed flexible working practices - made possible with software such as Citrix Access Gateway - means employees can adjust their working hours.

He explained: "It means that everyone doesn't need to be in the same place at any one time, they can work at different times of the day."

The amount of firms opting for a more mobile workforce is growing at a quick speed, Mr Overell added.

A recent press release from Hays revealed more than half of employers (55 per cent) would welcome government plans to introduce legislation making flexible working available to all of their employees.
