Britain’s changing attitude to flexible working policies has enabled organisations in the country to keep hold of its personnel.
This is the opinion of Tracy Corrigan, writing for the Daily Telegraph, who stated that innovative thinking and new technology - such as remote access software - have stopped unemployment figures from reaching the highs seen in previous recessions.
"[Flexible practices] no longer just mean adjusting the size of the workforce, but finding new ways to think about how people work, the technology they use and the wages they earn," she remarked.
According to Ms Corrigan, while the UK faces a difficult challenge coming out of the economic downturn, a rise in practices such as home working is making the country’s staff increasingly adaptable.
Consultancy ramsac recently compiled data that showed British firms without remote access software are potentially losing out on profits, with the organisation citing staff shortages due to wintry weather in January as one example of why this happening.
