Remote access working ‘is becoming the norm’

A growing number of companies are utilising remote access and flexible working practices to improve the efficiency of their business.

New research from workplace solutions company Regus has revealed that 85 per cent of firms in the US now offer their staff some form of flexible working options, with most of these companies stating that they have seen "significant benefits" as a result.

Among the positive effects of introducing a home working system are reduced overhead expenses compared to fixed office working, while it can also provide firms with access to a wider talent pool.

Moreover, respondents to the survey also stated that remote access workers are often more productive than their office-based counterparts and enjoy improved work-life balances.

Sande Golgart, regional vice president for Regus, said: "It's truly good news for everyone that flexible work has become the norm. Everyone benefits from this, not just the employers and employees, but families, wider society and even the environment."

This comes after the Telework Association stated earlier this month that the benefits of home working are becoming more widely recognised by UK companies.
