Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provider SAP is continually looking to innovate and expand, it has been claimed.
Jim Hagemann Snabe, one of the Germany-based outfit’s co-chief executive officers (CEOs), has been talking to CIO about the company’s future plans.
The industry figure noted: "We have almost 100,000 customers, we’re in almost every single country in the world and we have a very strong and powerful ecosystem."
Mr Hagemann-Snabe added the enterprise is looking to strengthen the entrepreneurial aspect of the business and has introduced agile methodologies by empowering teams to have time to innovate with customers.
SAP also draws inspiration and ideas from its wealth of customers, such as Apple, Nestle and Colgate, when looking to bring out innovative consumer-orientated products, he added.
Andrew Twaddle, vice-president of business transformation at another of SAP’s customers - American Water - recently observed the ERP supplier has a proven track record in the IT technology sector.
