SAP announces successful end-year results

ERP systems provider SAP has admitted its end-year results have exceeded expectations, taking into account challenging market conditions.

Leo Apotheker, chief executive officer of the company, said that despite a tough 12-month period, SAP is looking to return to "top-line growth" in 2010.

He stated: "Building on a strong foundation, we will drive growth by continuing to strengthen our core business and expand beyond the core with new products and technologies."

The organisation’s software revenues, which include SAP Business One sales, reached more than €1.1 billion (£990 million) in the fourth quarter of 2009 and Mr Apotheker highlighted the importance of improving services to its customers.

SAP is looking to boost access to its technologies by expanding the number of devices that are available for its product ranges, he added.

Last month, president and chief executive officer of US-based retailer Brookshire Grocery Company Rick Rayford described SAP as being excellent for judging the needs of businesses.
