SAP Business One can help provide a much-needed IT upgrade to small and medium-sized enterprises, it has been suggested.

Writing for Inside SAP, Elizabeth Kelleher noted the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system has been chosen by a golf ball manufacturer that had previously been using an outdated legacy system from the 1980s.

Srixon Sport Australasia is to use the software to integrate a number of core business functions.

These include customer relationship management, financials, sales, stock and operations.

Martin Wright, managing director at Srixon Australia New Zealand, said: “SAP is the right choice for us, especially given our interest in potentially going global with the system in the future.”

He added the firm was in great need for a new ERP system to help it through its current period of expansion.

Accra Noble Ekajeh, regional manager at SAP, described the SAP Business One platform as a flexible and full-featured product at the recent SAP Ghana World Tour 2010.
