SAP: Customer-centric innovation is key

9th July

Category: ERP systems

The core principle of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provider SAP is customer-centric innovation.

This is according to Sanjay Poonen, vice-president and general manager at SAP Business, Computer Weekly reports.

Mr Poonen stated the goal of the Germany-based outfit, which provides ERP systems such as SAP Business One, is to take care of all behind-the-scenes operations.

The industry expert observed the firm aims "to provide the backbone and nervous system to enable companies to focus on core business".

SAP’s strategy is based upon the four pillars of on-premise, on-device, on-demand and seamless orchestration, he added, before claiming another important strategy for the organisation is to focus on sector-specific analytics solutions, as this could provide the next wave of demand.

The company was recently pinpointed as offering the best investment value after United Water in the US disclosed it had selected SAP software to help it better the capabilities of its customer service processes.
