Organisations that run solutions from enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provider SAP could boost their invoicing operations, it has been claimed.

According to insideSAP, most businesses that use the Germany-based company’s platforms could adopt e-Invoicing or electronic delivery of customer invoices.

The benefits to employing such a strategy are plentiful, the source explained.

It is cheaper, quicker and more reliable than manual invoicing and gets rid of the inefficiency and waste associated with paper and posting.

The technique can allow firms to collect the money that is owed to them at a faster rate as the notices will be delivered sooner and therefore be processed more speedily.

It can also cover a wide range of operations, such as billing dispute management, operational cost control and lack of flexibility in the mailroom, the publication added.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution was recently able to better its financial procedures as its SAP software implementation calculated costs more accurately.
