28th July

Category: ERP systems

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provider SAP is enjoying strong success in the small and medium-sized (SME) market, it has been suggested.

Jim Hageman Snabe, co-chief executive officer (CEO) of the Germany-based firm, said it is the organisation’s keen focus on customer-driven innovation that is positively affecting its growth in this area.

The industry figure was speaking in response to news the business - which provides the SME-specific SAP Business One platform - has celebrated a 16 per cent increase in software and service revenue in the second quarter of 2010, as well as a jump in operating profit of 21 per cent.

He said: "Reaching more than 100,000 customers is a testament to the inroads we have made in expanding our volume business and our success in the SME segment."

Fellow co-CEO Bill McDermott put the achievements down to a strategic execution of SAP’s go-to-market strategy and a degree of renewed customer confidence.
