Implementing a SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system can enable a company to maximise its business efficiency, it has been suggested.

Software from the Germany-based firm, such as its SAP Business One product, could help an organisation streamline its operations, Bernama.com reports.

The website used the example of Malaysia Airlines, which is employing the technology to centralise its data.

Its ability to obtain real-time information will also be bolstered by the move, the portal noted.

Tengku Datuk Azmil Zahruddin, the operator’s chief executive officer, commented: "It is one integrated system which will speed up and allow us to make better decisions. We will see that both in revenue and overhaul phase."

The platform will manage all repair, overhaul and maintenance functions at the enterprise, he added.

According to insideSAP, organisation’s that run applications from SAP could boost their invoicing operations by adopting e-Invoicing or electronic delivery practices throughout their business.
