SAP ERP ‘can pave the way’ for improved customer service

An enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from SAP could enable companies to improve their customer service operations, it has been suggested.

Such software has been implemented by Konica Minolta South Africa, which wished to bolster its customer satisfaction at a premium level.

The laser printer and fax machine importer and distributor opted for the technology from the Germany-based outfit to draw real time information and improve efficiency.

Andrew Griffith, product manager for office products at the firm, explained: "From a marketing and campaign management perspective, this enables us to target specific customers with appropriate information on new solutions instead of taking a blanketed approach."

He added this is vital in order to achieve success, as the market must be segmented proactively to maintain satisfaction levels for different parties.

House of Pearls Fashions recently revealed it is to deploy an ERP system from SAP in an effort to cut operation costs and lessen its monthly book-closure time.
