The take-up of SAP's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software remains strong, as companies seek to improve efficiency and lower costs.

In recent days, Mechel became the latest firm to adopt the technology, citing its pursuit of leaner operations as the reason.

Zacks.com told how the business would integrate ERP software in its mining, steel and sales divisions as part of an overhaul that would take 18 months to complete.

Now, one contributor to Forbes, Dan Wood, has spoken of his admiration for the way SAP makes progress in the market.

He noted that he recently attended the SAP TechEd conference in Las Vegas, where the company's ability to move "in some new directions" dawned on him.

Mr Wood went on to describe SAP as a company that is making things that were once frustratingly difficult seem much easier than ever before, urging organisations to consider adopting its solutions for maximum results.
