SAP ERP software ‘provides more control over operations’

27th January

Category: ERP systemsEnterprise resource planning (ERP) systems from SAP allow for more command over business processes.

This is the suggestion of Tony Wray, chief executive of Severn Trent Water (SWT), who stated that while installing this kind of system at his organisation was a challenge, it has provided a range of benefits.

He remarked: "The program is probably the biggest change initiative we have undergone in our recent history and has introduced greater intelligence and control into our processes."

The utilities provider introduced the technology to centralise and streamline its current procedures, including finance, procurement, water and waste water functions and human resources.

SWT employees are now able to monitor and self-manage operations from individuals’ work stations to boost productivity levels and improve back and front office methods.

ERP products from the German software provider have also been useful in the small and medium-sized enterprise market, according to managing director of Hydra-Quip Bradley Flynn, who in November claimed that SAP Business One is an "excellent fit" for less-sizable firms.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19580655-ADNFCR
