SAP ERP software to become more innovative?

4th March

Category: ERP systems

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provided by industry giant SAP, such as SAP Business One, could become more innovative throughout 2010.

This is the suggestion of new co-chief executive officers at the company Jim Hagemann Snabe and Bill McDermott, who stated they are looking to adopt new practices, IDG reports.

"We need to get the job done and do it in a way that inspires people," the pair said during a press conference at the Cebit trade show in Hanover on Tuesday (March 2nd).

The duo replaced Leo Apotheker, the previous chief executive officer (CEO), to reinstate the dual-CEO structure the organisation has used before.

One of the changes being introduced by Mr Snabe and Mr McDonald include a move to more agile software development practices.

This means small teams working closely with customers to ensure platforms can be fine-tuned to better meet user needs.

Earlier this year, Debdeep Sengupta of SAP said that the firm’s software is excellent at providing stability for small and medium-sized enterprises.
