Technology provider SAP has been chosen by one firm for its high-quality enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, which it hopes will revolutionise its business.

NEC Corporation has confirmed it will run myAgri – an ERP product designed specifically for the agriculture sector that has enjoyed significant success in the US.

But it is not only ERP software that SAP has a formidable track record in, as its accounting software credentials have also been given a boost in recent days.

The organisation has revealed that it has been handed the number one position by the Interactive Data Corporation in its Worldwide Financial Accounting Applications 2010 Vendor Share report.

Its accounting software was praised for its ability to deliver a high standard of insight and trigger an improvement in performance.

"Chief financial officers and finance professionals globally are using SAP solutions ... to drive best practices across the finance organization that enable them to function as a true strategy partner to the business," said James Fisher, vice-president of marketing finance solutions at SAP.
