The Germany-based outfit is particularly keen to modernise the industry in India by deploying the latest in IT technology, the Financial Express reports.

Michael Pittelkow, head of public services industry business solutions at SAP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, told the news provider: "Our focus is on [the] better wellbeing of people."

The industry figure noted the firm, which supplies ERP systems such as SAP Business One for small and medium-sized enterprises, has plans to extend its reach in the Indian market.

He stated the organisation wants to tap into ministries, local government, police forces, defence and higher education research in colleges and universities.

SAP India chief operating officer Alok Goyal recently observed the future looks bright for the business after it emerged from the recent economic downturn unscathed.
