SAP, the Germany-based company that provides enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP Business One, is seeing its popularity expand across the globe, it has been claimed.

The firm’s business success in Asia in particular is experiencing a marked pick-up, Reuters reports.

According to Stephen Watts, president of SAP Asia Pacific Japan, the enterprise is being embraced by the fast-growing China and India markets and its software revenue in the continent achieved 13 per cent growth in the first quarter of this year.

The industry figure predicted regional demand for SAP products would continue throughout 2010.

"Certainly if I look across the market, the conversations are more positive [and] sentiment is picking up," he noted.

Mr Watts added the company’s Asian market accounts for around 15 per cent of its global revenue.

Writing for ZDNet, Oliver Marks recently observed SAP’s people-focused stance is one that will prove successful for them in the future.
