Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provider SAP will see its customer base widen in the near future, it has been suggested.
Bill McDermott, co-chief executive officer at the Germany-based firm, said he believes the organisation’s customer pool will expand considerably by 2015, the Financial Times reports.
The industry figure was speaking after SAP announced its clientele had jumped from 10,000 to more than 100,000 in the past quarter.
Mr McDermott told the publication: "You’ll definitely see SAP with more customers by 2015."
The business aims to increase its user numbers from 35 million to one billion in the next five years, he explained, before adding he is very optimistic the target is reasonable and one that can be met.
Atul Patel, SAP vice-president for business user and platform in Asia Pacific and Japan, recently observed sustainability will be the next mega trend for the company as it attempts to enhance its green credentials.
