Category: ERP systemsSAP may decide to concentrate more of its efforts on the sustainable enterprise resource planning (ERP) software market, it has been suggested.
Writing a blog post for Reuters, Leo Apotheker - the organisation’s chief executive officer - said that businesses such as his must now "lead the way" in creating an "effective monitoring system".
He went on to say that this process is already beginning to take shape and governments need to support changes being implemented in the commercial realm.
Mr Apotheker remarked: "Fortunately
better technology and better software are now in the process of making it easier for companies to quickly and accurately report on their carbon emissions."
These platforms are influencing cost savings, with less paperwork and an overall reduction in the problems relating to boosting companies’ energy efficiency, he added.
It follows an announcement made by the Germany-based software provider earlier this month that it will be concentrating on producing technology that is geared towards sustainable practices.
