Companies using SAP products, such as SAP Business One software, are set to benefit from a new product development process.

The SAP User Group in the UK and Ireland will be participating in the enterprise resource software supplier's Customer Connection project.

In order to get the most out of their software, customers will be able to log requests for improvements to products through a new Idea Place channel.

It is part of the user group's Continuous Improvement programme, which will allow SAP users to have more input into the firm's product development.

SAP UK and Ireland User Group chief executive Craig Dale said: "It's customer-driven, so the improvement requests will be ranked on votes and the number of customers supporting it."

This latest project by the company should ensure customers using its SAP Business One software and other products are happier in the long term.

Recently, SAP customers were informed that virtualisation specialists VMware would be introducing new solutions to help them move to a virtualised environment more easily.

The solutions should boost agility, performance and scalability of running SAP applications, the company announced.
