SAP ‘witnesses significant growth in the second quarter’

27th July

Category: ERP systems

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provider SAP has experienced significant growth in the second quarter of 2010.

The Germany-based company announced its revenue for software and technology-related services has ballooned by 16 per cent in this time.

It means income from these platforms rose from €1.95 billion (£1.64 billion) in 2009 to its current level of €2.26 billion (£1.90 billion).

Bill McDermott, co-chief executive officer at SAP, said the solid performance is due to renewed customer confidence and a focused execution of the organisation’s go-to-market strategy.

He added: "Customers continue to invest for growth across large, mid-sized and small enterprises and within many industries."

Chief financial officer at the business Werner Brandt stated he was pleased with the figures.

Jonny Evans, writing recently for the Apple Holic blog at Computerworld, described SAP ERP systems as the industry standard and claimed it is likely Apple uses the software in sales and distribution.
