The US government could be facing up to the prospect of investing in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software in order to solve some of its financial problems.
SAP's president of public services Jennifer Morgan has told a Senate committee that new and innovative solutions are required if the country is to reduce the amount of money it wastes on inefficient IT procedures.
President Obama is known to be keen to ramp up efforts to cut wastefulness in the government's approach to computing.
One of the best solutions might be to invest in SAP's signature ERP software in a bid to increase productivity and efficiency.
"We found that the fastest and most successful results occur when industry and government co-innovate to bring new possibilities to life through technology," Ms Morgan stated.
It seems the White House is making technological advances, with chief technology officer for Microsoft's federal business Susie Adams recently telling PC Advisor that the government has started to invest in the cloud.
