SAP’s ERP software ‘is among the greenest on the market’

Category: ERP Software

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software manufacturer SAP has been identified as a firm that performs particularly well from an environmental perspective.

The company scored highly in the 2011 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) and Carbon Disclosure Project Global 500 report, making it one of the industry's greenest names.

In the software sector, SAP topped the DJSI table for the fifth consecutive year, while its score of 76 per cent across all the indices is an impressive one.

Peter Graf, chief sustainability officer at SAP, said: "As we continue on our journey to become a sustainable organisation, we are honoured that our efforts have been recognised by these leading organisations that are working to baseline performance."

He added that the results validate SAP's desire to go green and to encourage its clients to think more of the environment in their chosen markets.

CloudPro this week suggested that SAP's latest technology offering – BusinessByDesign – is now ready to be used by firms.
