Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems specifically tailored for the small and medium-sized market - such as SAP Business One - are to see a boost in sales in 2010.
This is the prediction of Conrad Steyn, writing for IT News Africa, who said ERP systems in general are "set for another growth spurt" this year.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be looking to expand, he explained, so it is important suppliers of software are well placed to offer adequate guidance to this sector.
"Taking service to this new level will be critical for [providers] wanting to differentiate," Mr Steyn stated, adding that SMEs may not have the resources available and "would prefer to rely on their service provider for this level of expertise".
In an article for Baseline, George Wing of Tatum noted that value-added resellers give an extra layer of support to firms looking to deploy ERP systems.
