One of the main priorities for enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems provider SAP is sustainability, it has been suggested.
Contributing for the Jakarta Post, Zatni Arbi claimed green issues formed a significant part of SAP's World Tour.
The writer noted the Germany-based company, which provides ERP systems such as SAP Business One, can give an organisation the building blocks for a sustainability report that can be implemented by any firm.
Speaking of lowering its carbon footprint, regional managing director for SAP Southeast Asia Krish Datta said: "It is going to be an important issue."
The journalist stated SAP has shown its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices by releasing its own Sustainability Report for 2010, which indicates to stakeholders the measures being taken by line managers to raise awareness for green policies.
TUV Rhineland, the German standards organisation, recently certified SAP as an energy-efficient enterprise as it now utilises renewable energy for 50 per cent of its global electricity.
