A UK print company has chosen an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to improve its financial operations.
St Ives has opted for the software following a review of its accounting and ERP systems, as well as the creation of a centralised IT facilities group, printweek.com reports.
The move will initially see the deployment of the technology to 300 users across the firm’s finance management and services and graphics divisions.
But there are also plans in the pipeline for the system to be rolled out to a further 1,000 users throughout the business.
Simon Young, group IT director at St Ives, said he hopes the implementation will boost the company’s financial efficiency.
He remarked: "It is important to improve the visibility we have of projects and financial information so that we can be as agile as possible in the marketplace."
Morris Kaplan of CFO World recently explained that ERP systems can improve the accessibility and precision of a firm’s mission-critical financial data.
